iPhone 20 could look like a thinner, rounder iPhone Air
A notorious Weibo leaker has claimed that the iPhone 20 will share the iPhone Air’s glass-heavy design but with a more rounded shape.
That prediction comes from Weibo leaker Fixed-Focus Digital, who reiterated claims first made in July – even as the industry remains focused on the imminent iPhone 18 launch, with the 20th-anniversary iPhone still roughly a year from release.
According to the leaker, the iPhone 20 will use the same glass assembly found on the iPhone Air, though the finished device will lean on more rounded materials rather than replicate the Air’s flatter edges outright.
The leaker also claims the shared glass assembly could lower production costs for Apple, alongside separate claims that the design improves heat dissipation and shaves down overall thickness, though no technical explanation accompanies either claim.
Fixed-Focus Digital carries a mixed track record typical of Weibo-based leakers and correctly named the iPhone 16e ahead of its unveiling, however it’s important to note that the account has also produced a substantial number of claims that failed to materialise.
Beyond the added cost detail, this latest post repeats ground the leaker already covered in July rather than expanding the overall picture of what the iPhone 20 will offer, and Apple routinely pushes suppliers toward cost reductions regardless of any single leak.
That July report asserted that Apple had returned to a glass-heavy design for the anniversary model and would process components using methods similar to those used on the first-generation iPhone Air.
Separately, a May report from another knownWeibo leaker, Digital Chat Station, claimed Apple had settled on a quad-curved OLED display for the iPhone 20, a claim that extends a longer run of reports about the screen’s curvature.
Fixed-Focus Digital had already raised the cooling claim earlier this month and described a heat dissipation plate roughly an inch larger than on previous models, alongside a glass-heavy build and an Air-style mid-frame and thinness.
None of those specific claims carries any confirmation from Apple, and every detail about the iPhone 20 name, design or pricing mentioned here comes from unverified reports by Chinese leakers rather than official statements.
The device remains roughly a year away from any expected launch, and further details are likely to emerge as Apple’s supply chain moves closer to production for the 20th-anniversary model.
